Wildcats defeat Gladiators

WARWICK — Warwick Valley defeated Goshen 28-21 last Saturday afternoon in Goshen to retain Spirit Trophy.
There series now stands at 55 wins for Warwick, 46 for Goshen with four ties.
Warwick’s Purple Offensive Line of Andre Ward, Rich Mascal, Dan Jeleniewicz, Nick Fotino and Jason Hranitz kept the pocket clean all day for QB Jared Senius who completed 15 of 25 passes for more than 200 yards including three touchdown passes to Connor Perez and an important two-point conversion to Anthony McGee.
The Wildcats needed to score late, helped by a Senius to Sean English 24-yard completion.
On defense, Dan McNally and Noah Daigle blocked punts for the Wildcats. McNally recorded four sacks while teammates Matt Hansen, Nick Fotino, Joe Miller, Daigle and Grant Dolshun sacked the Goshen QB.
Warwick improves to 2 - 0 and will take on Saugerties on Saturday, Sept. 16, at C. A Morgan Field in Warwick.
Kick off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
