Wildcats compete for a cause

WARWICK — The high school student – athletes from Warwick and North Rockland competed in the second annual Wounded Warrior Project Challenge on May 3 on the Warwick Valley High School campus.
More than $5,000 was raised for the Wounded Warrior Project by the Warwick student–athletes in what turned out to be an exciting day all around.
North Rockland scratched out the overall win (2 points for a varsity win and 1 point for a JV win) 10–8.
Congratulations to Varsity Girls Golf (Katie Krahulik overall winner), Varsity Softball (won in 9 Innings), Varsity Tennis (3rd Doubles Team of …broke a 3 – 3 tie) and Varsity Boys Lacrosse (won 15 – 12).
Special thanks to Wounded Warrior Jason Braase who was the keynote speaker and the many volunteers that made the day special including Heidi Thonus, the Santana Family, Mary McGuiness, Mike Sisco, Gwen Garcia, Donna Cosner, The Warwick Valley Country Club, The Todd Family, Kevin McGovern, The Crew Team and students Hannah Schabilon, Hannah Davis, Julie Leary, Katie O’Leary, Karissa Crozier, Christine McSweeney and Victoria Smith (Middle School students).
