Wildcats AAU tournament play

This past weekend, the girls’ Warwick Wildcats AAU Basketball team, coached by Jim O’Brien, Kyle Putnam, Lizzette Soto and Ally Putnam (8th and 9th grade) participated in a two-day tournament at SUNY Orange in Middletown. Although they did not win, the girls showed a lot of heart. This time of year can be very busy with Communions, Confirmations and dance recitals; as a result, the team was short many of their regular players. The opportunity to play on AAU teams is a great way to expose the girls interested in playing on the Warwick school teams to other athletes that they may not encounter during the regular school basketball schedule.
