Wild Fury riding three-game shut out streak

Warwick - Rebounding from a their first loss of the season to HVU Forza on May 5, the Wild Fury is on a three-game winning streak - all shut-outs. On Sunday May 7, at home under the lights, the Wild Fury beat Brewster 4-0 with goals by Siobhan Brady, Sarah Harrison, Shannon Allan and Lara Tomich. The Wild Fury then defeated the Newburgh Revolution Herricanes on Saturday by a final score of 2-0. This past Sunday night, again under the lights at home and enduring relentless wind and chilling temperatures, the Wild Fury secured their third consecutive shut-out by a score of 3-0 against the SUFC Jesters. Goals were scored by Julie Drevitson, Sarah Harrison and Katlyn Chester. The victory leaves the Wild Fury in second place in the HVYSL-EHYSL U16 Crossover Division 1 with a record of 6-1-0. During that time, the team has outscored its opponents by 25-4. The team’s leading scorers are Siobhan Brady, Shannon Allan, Bridget Allan and Julie Drevitson. The defensive unit of sweeper Marina Bisaro, stopper Lara Tomich and fullbacks Katie Stage and Lucy Hamling, anchored by keepers Emily Shields and Ally Snigur, have continually shut down the team’s opponents only letting up a total of four goals in seven games. That allows the mid-fielders to take control and the forwards to apply offensive pressure for large parts of every game played so far this season. The team will be competing in the Guilderland Memorial Day Weekend Tournament in Albany this coming weekend.
