Washingtonville Here are the game scores for week six of the Orange County Soccer League for Women’s Recreational Soccer, based in Washingtonville: Saturday, May 20 Teams: Life Plex (Monroe) vs. Schlesinger’s (New Windsor) Final score: Life Plex 1, Schlesinger’s 1 It was a crisp soccer morning on Saturday at the Washingtonville Middle School when Schlesinger’s played Life Plex. Even though Schlesinger’s played one man down, the competition was intense. Schlesinger’s did an amazing job defending, but one goal got past in the first half by Janine Kovacs with an assist by Tricia Kent. This gave Life Plex a one-nothing lead for the majority of the game, in large part due to the fantastic goals saved by Lisa Jackson. Schlesinger’s tied the game off a corner kick, followed by a goal from Stacy Poth. The game ended in a hard-fought and well-played tie. Teams: Life Plex (Monroe) vs. Halligan’s Public House (Warwick) Final score: Life Plex 4, Halligan’s Public House 0 The weather did not hold up as well all morning for Life Plex as they later played Halligan’s Public House. Although worn and tired, Life Plex’s goalie Lisa Jackson successfully defended the goal with the assistance of Jannine Barbosa, Theresa Conlon, and Janine Kovacs. Offense had Melinda MacDonald working the ball toward the goal while, both teams played ferociously. Although both teams battled it out, Life Plex was able to dominate the goal. Janine Kovacs used her offensive skills while playing defense and scored 2 goals. Working hard to maintain control of the ball, Life Plex’s offense proceeded to plant two more goals by Laura Farley and Tricia Kent. Life Plex would like to give a heads up to Halligan’s Public House number 7 who never gave up no matter how often she hit that puddle. Teams: The Copper Bottom (Florida) vs. Schlesinger’s (New Windsor) Final score: The Copper Bottom 2, Schlesinger’s 0 The two goals scored for The Copper Bottom were by Angie Trzepowski in the first half. The second came in the second half by Jenn Erbeck. It was a great game. Schlesinger’s was definitely formidable. The shut -out was granted to The Copper Bottoms rookie goalie Khim Wiley. Schlesinger’s forced The Copper Bottom defense to work extremely hard. Sunday, May 21 Teams: Callahan and Nannini (Blooming Grove) vs. Freedom Air (Montgomery) Final score: Callahan and Nannini 4, Freedom Air 2 Callahan and Nannini’s goals were scored by Stephanie Bliss with three and Kelly Yarpezeshkan with one. Gina Dudgeon from Callahan and Nannini helped Freedom Air field a team. Great goal keeping by Jennifer Thompson. Freedom Air’s goals were scored by Maureen Ferrara. Teams: Freedom Air (Montgomery) vs. Trophies and More (Monroe) Final score: Freedom Air 4, Trophies and More 1 Freedom Air’s goals were scored by Jennifer Davis, Jill Siruchek, Kristy Peterson and Kelly Bailey. Freedom Air would like to thank Callahan and Nannini’s Stephanie Bliss for subbing. The goal for Trophies and More was scored by Gina Dudgeon, from Callahan and Nannini. Ann-Michelle Kakuda had an amazing 14 saves in goal for Trophies and More.
