Orange County Soccer League keeps score Week 5 Scores for Friday, Feb. 24 Halligan’s Public House vs Schlesinger’s Final Score: 2:6 Jen Disy and Sarah Franklin scored one goal each for Halligan’s (Warwick), with assists by Inga Helseth and Maureen Connolly. Excellent defense was played by Janet Toborg, Karen Fringuello and Melissa Nicks. Theree goals were scored by Erin Larkin of Schlesinger’s (New Windsor), while Susan Waddell, Hope Buck, and Sue Schuler added one a piece. Teri Johnson played in goal. Cutting Edge vs The Copper Bottom Final Score: 1:2 The first goal for The Copper Bottom (Florida) was scored in the first quarter by Jess Eichele, with an assist from Brigette O’Dell. The second goal was scored by Marianne Cummings in the second quarter, assisted by Jacy Smith’s throw in. The goal in the second half by Cutting Edge (Montgomery) was scored by Laura Farley, off an assist from Lisa Auty. Both Farley and Auty had a strong offensive game, with many shots on goal. Jennifer Davis played goal for Cutting Edge, and had a lot of saves, while Sarah Farina played a defensive game and was always where she needed to be. The Cutting edge team was assisted by substitutes Farley and Farina from Optimized-Energy, and Davis from Sweet Thoughts. However, The Copper Bottom was able to hold them, to capture their first win of the season. Ann Conway defended the goal well, and defenders Vanessa Dow and Linda Dolansky constantly beat Cutting Edge to the ball first. The team was assisted by substitutes Eichele and Rachel Boccard from Schlesinger’s, and Inga Helseth from Halligan’s. Sweet Thoughts vs Optimized-Energy Final Score: 3:2 The goals for Sweet Thoughts (Washingtonville) were scored by Cathy Thompson. The team was assisted by Kathy Roberts and Teri Johnson from Schlesinger’s. Lesa Anonta, from Cutting Edge, subbed for Optimized-Energy (Warwick). Keltic House vs Callahan & Nannini Final Score: 3:8 The goals for Callahan & Nannini (Blooming Grove) were scored by Stefanie Bliss, Victoria Fleming, and Courtney Pagliaro. It was a competitive game on a full field. The goals for Keltic House (Fishkill) were scored by Marie Cassels, Jess Eichele and Heather Gilbert. Adrienne Davet was effective on defense. Jessie Nelson and Heather Lodini shared time in goal. The team was assisted by Lesa Antona, subbing from Cutting Edge. Week 6 Scores for Friday, March 3 Schlesinger’s vs Keltic House Final score: 3:4 It was a close game between Keltic House (Fishkill) and Schlesinger’s (New Windsor). Schlesinger’s scored a goal in the first half off of a penalty kick. All of Keltic House’s 4 goals were scored by Jess Eichele. Heather Lodini kept goal, and Lesa Antona from the Cutting Edge team subbed for Keltic House. Optimized-Energy vs Callahan & Nannini Final score: 1:5 Goals for Callahan & Nannini (Blooming Grove) were scored by Stefanie Bliss, Victoria Fleming, PattiAnn Randazzo, and Noreen Nannini, against Optimized-Energy (Warwick). Sweet Thoughts vs Cutting Edge Final score: 3:1 Sweet Thoughts (Washingtonville) struck first, scoring two goals in the first half. Lisa Auty from Cutting Edge (Montgomery) answered back, scoring a goal off of her own corner kick. Sweet Thoughts scored one more time in the second half. Sweet Thought’s goals were scored by Beth Van Pelt, Jen Davis, and Cathy Thompson. Julie Shappy and Beth Van Pelt attended goal. Sweet Thought was assisted by Tricia Kent from Optimized-Engery, and Stefanie Bliss from Callahan & Nannini. Cutting Edge was assisted by Noreen Nannini and Gina Dudgeon from Callahan & Nannini, Sarah Farina and Laura Farley from Optimized-Energy, and Jen Erbeck and Kathy Gallagher from The Copper Bottom. The Copper Bottom vs Halligan’s Public House Final score: 4:3 In the first minute of the game, Kathy Gallagher of The Copper Bottom (Florida) scored with an assist from Jacy Smith. Shortly after, Jenn Erbeck using her body, scored the second goal off a corner kick from Marianne Cummings. Later in the first quarter Cummings was assisted by Jacy Smith for a third goal. Before the half was over, Halligan’s Public House (Warwick) answered back with 2 goals scored by Jen Disy. In the second half, Cummings scored again, assisted by Jenn Erbeck. Halligan’s Public House answered back on a break away scored by Sue Havell. Inga Helseth and Tacey Fitzgerald played offense for Halligan’s Public House. The defense line of Melissa Nicks, Janet Toborg, Karen Fringuello protected the goal as Diana Piascik made multiple saves. Copper’s Ann Conway had a good game in goal, supported by defensive players Vanessa Bisone, Cathy Jacobsen, and Dolly Conklin. Cathy Thompson and Sue, subbing from Sweet Thoughts, assisted The Copper Bottom to their second victory.
