WARWICK — The Warwick Valley Freshman football (Modified A) team ended its 2017 season 8-0, scoring 239 points while only giving up 40 points all season.
A stellar feat by any measure.
The team kicked off their season against Millbrook (scrimmage) with a 36-6 victory and went on to outplay:
• Kingston (scrimmage) 26-7;
• Onteora 28-14;
• Minisink 20-0;
• Valley Central 38-0
• Kingston 14-13
• Valley Central 38-0; and a final game against
• Minisink yielding a 39-0 win.
The 34-player roster was led by Head Coach Mike Stolt and assistants Percy Caraballo, Angel Maysonet, Todd Orlando and Rob Corter.
“We had a mix of veteran players and players new to the sport,” Stolt said. “They all worked hard, worked together, and came to every practice and game with heart, determination, and the will to win. I’m very proud of this team.”
Although the official season is over, the team is looking forward to celebrating with the rest of the Warwick Valley Football program, Modified, JV and Varsity at the Football Banquet and End-of-Season Ceremony on Monday, Dec. 18.
