Warwick Valley High School to host Boys Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Feb. 10
WARWICK — The Warwick Valley High School Boys Basketball Program will hold its ninth annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the WVHS Gymnasium.
The ceremony will begin prior to the start of the boy’s varsity basketball game against James I. O’Neill High School at approximately 12:15 p.m.
The Induction Class of 2018 consists of three former Warwick High School Basketball Players:
Chris Andre, class of 1978;
Coach Tom Folino, Class of 1976; and
Gavin Hannah, Class of 2010.
The Basketball Hall of Fame Committee selected these individuals.
"It looks to be an exciting afternoon of basketball at Warwick High School," Athletic Director Gregory Sirico said in his press release announcing the Hall of Fame selections. "Come out and pay tribute to three men who careers had a major impact on the history of Warwick Wildcat Boy’s Basketball."
This year the program will also be recognizing former Wildcat Shane Tanzosh, who passed away last year from a condition called Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC).
"We are asking that all spectators make a donation to the Shane Edward Tanzosh ARVC Heart Foundation," Sirico said.
Contributions to the foundation can be made payable to:
The Shane Edward Tanzosh ARVC Heart Foundation, Inc., 9 Cortland Drive, Warwick, NY 10990
Donations can also be made online at: https://www.gofundme.com/shane-tanzosh-arvc-heart-foundation.
Immediately after the game there will be a post game reception to honor the inductees. Cake and coffee will be served.
