Warwick Valley defeats Saugerties to improve to 3-0

— The Warwick Wildcat Varsity Football Team improved to 3-0 with a 36-15 victory over Saugerties at Saturday’s Homecoming contest.
The Wildcats were off to a fast start with an opening safety by the defense led by seniors Noah Daigle, Andrew Wiezbicki and Sean English.
Quarterback Jared Senius connected with Connor Perez for an early score of 37 yards. The touchdowns were scored by Perez, Matt Hansen, Senius, Harrison Parrelli and Kyle Rooney.
Offensive line was outstanding, helping Wildcats rush for 258 yards on 44 carries. The senior linemen include Nick Fotino, Jason Hranitz, Rich Mascal, Dan Jelenewicz, Shea Gormley, Alexander Avery, Isaac Roman, Lucas Triantis and Eddie Kerrisk.
Warwick defense was paced by Daigle who led the way with 13 total tackles. Jayquil Tucker intercepted a ball that led to a score and the defensive line kept pressure on the Saugerties offense all game.
English, Joseph Miller and Dan McNally all contributed more than 6 tackles in the win.
The Wildcats will take on Washingtonville in Warwick on Saturday, Sept. 23, beginning at 7 p.m.
