Warwick Valley concludes 2011-12 boys basketball season with awards banquet

WARWICK — The Warwick Valley boys basketball program held its annual awards banquet on March 26, marking the end of a success season in which they finished as co-champions of the Section 9 Class AA Division II.

The Cats, with a record of 12-7, also qualified for the Section IX Class AA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year under Head Coach Tom Folino.

The junior varsity Cats, coached by Aaron Hasbrouck, also finished the season as co-champions. The team’s record was 12-6

The Modified 7/8 team under Coach Anthony Mann had another great season as its members showed tremendous improvement from the first day of the season to the last day.

A place in Wildcat history Senior center Albert Hall finished his varsity career with 500 points, placing him number 17th on the school’s all-time scoring list. He scored 364 points for the season as he averaged 19.3 points per game along with 10.4 rebounds a game.

Hall was named to the Times-Herald Record’s second team All-Star team. He also was selected to the New York State Basketball Coaches Association Class AA Section IX All-Star Top 10 team.

Camp starts The Boys Basketball Camp will be held the week of June 25 to 29 at the Warwick High School new and old gymnasiums. The camp is for any boy entering 4th through 10th grade.
