For the first time in the 127-year tradition of Warwick Athletics, girls will play football.
Flag football has hit the ground running in New York State as it is now a scholastic sport to be played in the spring. Many Lady Wildcats have taken on the role as trailblazers in the inaugural season.
The NY Jets have come through on their pledge of nearly $9,000 for any school in Section IX this year to get flag football off the ground and cover many of the start-up costs.
Games are played on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings to avoid conflicts for the many athletes who play football and another spring sport.
The team is coached by Rocco Manno, Carlos Barquero, Jim O’Brien, Mckenna Digiulio and other volunteers.
Warwick Girl Flag travels to Florham Park to participate in a flag football jamboree hosted by the NY Jets. Thank you to Elijah Hodges of the NY Jets for putting the event together
