Warwick football defeats Washingtonville

— The Warwick Varsity Football Team rallied back from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Washingtonville 42-35 at C.A. Morgan Field on Saturday night, Sept. 23, in front of a home crowd of nearly 3,000 fans.
Warwick quarterback Jared Senius completed 13 of 21 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns, including two to senior Connor Perez.
Perez had five receptions for 127 yards as well an interception return for a touchdown.
Harrison Parrelli led the Wildcat ground attack with 23 carries for 178 yards and three touchdowns.
Senius completed a key two-point conversion to Zach Ripp in the fouth quarter to increase the margin to seven points.
The Wildcat defense was paced by Robbie Maslanka and Sean English, who each had more than 10 tackles.
Kyle Rooney has a key interception in the fourth quarter to set up the Wildcats' final score.
The team totaled four sacks and six quarterback pressures led by Dan McNally’s two sacks.
Captains Nick Fotino, Jason Hranitz, Andrew Wiezbicki and Perez kept the team focused and never lost faith as the Wildcats were down nine point in the final quarter.
Special teams were led by Steven Mehling who converted two of three extra points and punter Joe Miller who totaled 97 yards on two kicks.
Eric Ormsby pinned the Wizards deep with seven kickoffs totaling 341 yards, including one touchback.
Nick Garcia made two tackles on kickoff.
The Wildcats were scheduled to play non-conference opponent Newburgh Free Academy on Thursday night, Sept. 28, at NFA’s Goldback Stadium.
