Warwick Fire end seasons with 8-1 scorching of Goshen

Warwick - The Warwick Fire, Tony Blomfield’s U11 Boys Travel Soccer team, won their final game of the fall season against Goshen on Goshen’s home pitch. The first goal of the game belonged to Phillip Goska on a header off a corner kick by Nick Blomfield. Nick had his own goal on a corner kick that bent into the net without any assist. Goshen couldn’t quite connect with the ball, but a Warwick handball in the box gave them an opportunity to score on a penalty kick, which made the score 2-1. Michael Bedross, playing midfield, ran the ball to the Goshen net and shot it just past the goalie, and Nick Blomfield, shooting an off balance cross shot, gave the Fire another goal, bringing the first half total goals for Warwick to four. After the half, the sun seemed to disappear and the air turned chilly, but the Fire kept the heat turned up. Michael Bedross passed to Nick Blomfield, who found the back of the net yet again; his first hat trick. On a roll, he placed another corner kick within scoring range and Jamie Eigo headed it in. Gregory Snigur took an incredible shot, only to see it deflected by the able Goshen keeper. The next two times, however, the keeper couldn’t stop him from finding his target as Gregory gave the Fire its last two goals. With a score of 8-1, the Fire ended its season with a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday” for Coach Blomfield and celebrated another winning season of soccer.
