Warwick Crew has great showing at State Scholastic Championships

SARATOGA — Warwick Crew had a strong showing a the New York Scholastic Rowing Championships last weekend in Saratoga.
Three Warwick boats had first-place finishes:
• Women’s’ Varsity pair took first place paced by Josie Romano and Seana Morgan.
• The boy’s lightweight double of Andrew Aeberli and Jacob Gaydos took first in the 1500 meter event.
• The Women’s Varsity straight four pulled ahead of Poughkeepsie by two boat lengths to win the race (Seana Morgan, Josie Romano, Caleigh Rubin and Kaylee Oelofse).
Meanwhile, the men’s light weight four took third with a time of 5:29.8 with Andrew Aeberli, Connor Larson, Jacob Gaydos and Caleb Manheim. (Canisius High School from the Buffalo area won the race.)
The next event - the Orange-Ulster Cup - is this weekend at the West Milford Boat Club.
