On Sunday, Oct. 20, the Warwick Black Major Boys fall team won New York’s District 19 Harvest Cup Championship held at Chester Little League field.

The undefeated Warwick Black teamed up against an undefeated Pine Bush team.

District 19 oversees the supervised programs of competitive baseball and softball games under the rules and policies of Little League Baseball/Softball.

Second Season and Fall Ball accommodate the needs of the players. The less rigid schedule lets coaches focus on training and development, particularly in the younger players.

The Warwick Black Major Boys team manager, Dr. Dominick Berlingieri, reported that Warwick Black took a two-run lead in the first inning with some exceptional base running by Zach Pritchard and Dax Yazdani.

Pine Bush then tied the game 2-2 in the second inning.

“Excellent pitching for both teams,” said Berlingieri, “kept the game tied until Warwick scored two more runs in the fourth inning.”

He added, however, that Pine Bush came back and tied the game in the fifth inning.

But in the last inning, Warwick Black went ahead by two runs on an RBI triple by Ryan Yioupis and an RBI double by Domenico Berlingieri.
