Varsity softball captain Helena Kenny chosen 'Student-Athlete of the Week'
WARWICK — Warwick Valley High School is proud to honor Helena Kenny as this week’s "Student–Athlete of the Week" sponsored locally by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
The senior softball captain and center fielder has been a big part of the Lady Wildcats’ 3–1 start with victories over Marlboro, Monroe and Washingtonville.
Helena is a key contributor to one of the best defensive teams in the county.
Helena also is an excellent student, carrying a 97.3 average and is currently ranked 36th in a class of 367 students.
She has taken six Advanced Placement Courses for College Credit in her four years at Warwick Valley High School.
She is a member of the National Honor Society (treasurer) and the Leadership Academy and serves as a school representative to the L.E.A.D. conference in Washington D.C.
Helena has maintained an average of 95 or better every quarter of her high school career (Magna Cum Laude).
She has been accepted to the University of Delaware where she plans to study mathematics and finance.
Helena is the daughter of Kevin and Sharon Kenny of Warwick. Her brother Devon attends Geneseo and her sister Nora is a seventh grader in the Warwick Valley Middle School.
