Central Valley - Katie Treston, a member of the girls varsity lacrosse team, and John Reagan, a member of the boys varsity lacrosse squad, have been named Monroe-Woodbury High School athletes of the week. Treston, a ninth-grade, led the girls lacrosse team with nine goals in two recent games. Just this past week, she scored twice and assisted on two other goals in the team’s 12-9 loss to Clarkstown North. The Monroe-Woodbury team’s record is 7-6. Reagan, a senior, recently scored three goals and assisted on another in the team’s contest against Kingston. Against Warwick, he added another goal and an assist. Known as a team player who plays solid defense as well bringing the ball up on clears, this is Reagan’s second year on the varsity. The team’s record is 7-7. Recognition as athlete of the week is part of the Athletic Department’s efforts to acknowledge students who maintain a high degree of success in academics while also demonstrating good citizenship and outstanding game sportsmanship.
