Union Avenue Y to run adult basketball league

New Windsor — The Union Avenue Y is kicking off an adult basketball league on its newly-built, outdoor, full-court basketball court at 565 Union Ave in New Windsor. The league, designed for basketball enthusiasts who like the thrill of friendly competition, is open to adults 18 and over. The first game will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, and games will continue at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays thereafter. The games will be four on four, full-court, with two 20-minute halves, and with the clock running throughout. There will be no referees, and players will call their own fouls. The regular season will be 11 games, followed by playoffs and league championship games. The fee is $225 per seven-person team. Walk-ins can pay $40 and be placed on a team.
