Monroe — For the Warrior Weekend Camp, held on June 10 to 12, “Gung-ho, Working Together” was the theme. Students were treated to seminars in sparring, self-defense and forms. Each seminar was focused on a very specific area to help the students understand the techniques more clearly. Seminar leaders and their specialty were: Master David Herbert from World Martial Arts, Hapkido; Master Paul Melella, leadership; Master Teresa Ciarfella, meditation training; and Master Edmund Ciarfella, instructor recertification. The review covered all forms, self-defense, endurance training (three 3 minute sparring matches), flexibility training, and meditation and visualization.
