Tournament celebrates Jamaican independence
Montgomery A golf tournament will be held starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug.19 at Winding Hills Golf Course, Montgomery, to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Jamaica’s Independence. The tournament will feature the Reggae Golf Crew, from Nassau County, N.Y. (Nassau Jamaicans) versus the Orange Americans. The co-hosts of the tournament are Ed Devitt of Winding Hills Golf Course and County Legislator Noel Spencer. “On behalf of all Jamaicans, we are looking forward to the celebration,” Spencer said in a press release. “We welcome participants to our celebratory golf tournament.” The sponsors of the tournament are Paul Bausch of AFLAC, Foeller Men’s Shop, Spencers Financial Services, Focus Media and Josh Sommers Cohen, and Manny Mangual. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. WTBQ 1110AM will provide a live remote broadcast between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The greens fees will be $75 per player, which includes cart, barbecue brunch, tournament souvenir towels, and vanity bags.
