Warwick - The Warwick Titans, which is the name of two U9 travel soccer teams in the Warwick Soccer Club, both strong seasons with the help of their managers, parent coaches and Red Bulls trainer Keith Ellis, who worked twice a week with both teams throughout the season. The U9 Titans White Boys Soccer team completed the season with five wins, one loss and one tie. The Wallkill Heat forfeited the final game when they could not put a team together to play on Father’s Day. So the Titans instead challenged their parents to a game that ended with a 5-5 tie. The Titans White team outscored opponents 27-12 led by the offensive forwards Cian Hicks, Tim Stevens, and Dylan DeLaHoz along with mid-fielders Brandon Stirt, Sean Ormsby, Kevin Fleming and Alex Aparicio. The Titans’ defense was led by keepers Demetri Joanow and Mathew Bosch and defenders Ciaran Ward, Erin Leahey and Paul Greibesland. The Titans also finished third in the Guilderland Tournament in the Boys U10 Division. The Warwick Purple Titans, also a U9 boys team, but brand new to the league this year, also saw a considerable improvement. Beaten by the Orange County Eagles in their first game, the Purple Titans quickly took the lead on a goal by Dylan Hayes in their second meeting. But just before the half, OCE scored two quick goals. Coming back after half time, Will Brack tied the game. Ian Roeloff’s made some excellent saves, but he was unable to stop OCE on their third and final goal for a 3-2 Eagles’ victory. The Purple Titans’ won their next games against Washingtonville and Goshen. Goals were scored by Will Brack, Sharleigh Carter and Christian Rupp. The Titans beat Washingtonville, 3-1, with Clara Timony “person” of the match, and beat Goshen, 2-0, with Paul Ginley as man of the match for his effort throughout the game. Finally, the Purple Titans faced off against Goshen in their second match of the season on a hot Father’s Day. The Purple Titans won by a score of 7-1, with two goals from Will Brack and single tallies from Dylan Hayes, Kyra Power, Nick Zintel, Sharleigh Carter and Ian Roeloffs. Paul Ginley and Nick Zintel were joint “men of the match” award.
