They got game

— Warwick Valley High School’s Athletic Department recognized the seniors on the boys varsity basketball team on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Athletic Director Greg Sirico provided the following profiles of these young men:

Daniel Filipowski: #21
Daniel has been a member of the boy’s basketball program for four years. He is an outstanding teammate and a very intelligent player.

He has been on the high honor or honor roll every quarter of his high school career. He has a 93 grade point average and is ranked in the top 20 percent of his graduating class. He is interested in attending the University of Tennessee, Delaware or George Mason; he plans to major in business.

Daniel is the son of Dave and Becky Filipowski.

Eric Fahnestock: #00
Eric has been a member of the boy’s basketball program for five years. He has worked extremely hard on the hardwood as he brings tremendous energy every day. He has made the high honor roll every quarter of his high school career. He has a 101 grade point average and is ranked 24th in his class of 375.

Eric is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honorary. Eric has been accepted at the University of Connecticut, Penn State, Lehigh and SUNY Binghamton; he plans to major in engineering.

Eric is the son of Lynn and Matt Price and Mike Fahnestock.

Ryan Guilfoyle: #11
Ryan has been a member of the boy’s basketball program for five years. Ryan is one of our most improved players this season and a valuable contributor to the team. He brings tremendous energy to practice and games and he is a very intelligent player.

He has an 85 grade point average and has been on the high honor or honor roll numerous times in his high school career. He has been accepted at SUNY Plattsburgh and is looking at SUNY Albany, Oneonta and Binghamton; he plans to major in computer science.

Ryan is the son of James and Jessica Guilfoyle.

Anthony Mann: #13
Anthony has been a member of the boy’s basketball program for six years. He is a two-year varsity starter and was selected captain by his teammates this year. He is having an outstanding season and is one of the top point guards in Section IX. He brings tremendous energy and leadership.

He has an 85 grade point average and has been on the honor roll numerous times in his high school career. He is interested in continuing his basketball career in college at either SUNY Cortland, Purchase, Plattsburgh or Marywood; he plans to major in communications.

Anthony is the son of Anthony and Teresa Mann.

Jordan Totaro: #24
Jordan has been a member of the boy’s basketball program for six years. He is a two-year varsity starter and has been selected as a captain by his teammates for two consecutive seasons. He is an outstanding all around basketball player and is one of the top guards in Section IX.

Jordan has a 92 grade point average and has made the high or honor roll every semester of his high school career. He is ranked in the top 25 percent of his graduating class.

He has been accepted at Springfield College, University of Delaware, Penn State, Hofstra and Quinnipiac; he plans to major in physical therapy.

Jordan is the son of Robert and Laura Totaro.
