Therese Mandracchia named Warwick Valley High School's 'Student-Athlete of the Week'

WARWICK — Therese Mandracchia has been selected as Warwick Valley High School's "Student–Athlete of the Week" under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

The junior swimmer and diver won the Section IX diving title this past weekend and will advance to the state meet on Nov. 22 at Ithaca College.

Therese is in her fourth year as a swimmer and diver; she was one of the team's captains this fall.

She also is one of the teams’ top swimmers, qualifying for sections in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly.

Therese is an outstanding student with a 95 overall average. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Summa Cum Laude and the Warwick Wind Ensemble.

She also has been recognized by the NYSPHSAA as a scholar–athlete and recently won the John Schmitz Outstanding Diver Award presented by the girls swim and dive committee.

She also is enrolled in many challenging classes as a junior (AP World History, AP U.S. History, AP Chemistry and AP Literature) for college credit.

Therese is the daughter of Theresa and Stephen Mandracchia of Warwick. Her sister Katy is a college freshman in College.
