The 'Wildcat Cut' debuts

WARWICK — Call it swagger or class, but team spirit can take many forms, including the new monogrammed look for ballplayers from the Warwick Barber Shop on West Street in the Village of Warwick and its new haircut: the “Wildcat Cut.”

“This is our contribution to the Warwick Little League team spirit during April and May,” said owner John Gargano, “and the parents who bring their sons in here immediately recognize the value that our cut makes.”

The Wildcat Cut consists of an artistic rendition of the Wildcat paw print or the “W” (for the Warwick Little League) embossed in the hair of the student.

It is an approach to team spirit akin to beards grown by many members of last year's World Champion Boston Red Sox.

With each cut that Gargano and his associate CJ Watson make, Warwick Barber Shop donates a portion of the price of the haircut to the Warwick Little League in the student’s name.

Warwick Barber Shop sports an updated retro approach to men’s hair styling, complete with vintage barber chairs, boxing decor, men's fashion guides, sports magazines and comic books.

Located directly across the street from Halligan's Public House, there is limited parking behind the shop. If you park on the street, come on in and they will even give you quarters to feed the meter.
