The A’s are Warwick Little League’s Major Boys champions

WARWICK — The Athletics are the champions of Warwick Little League’s Major Boys.

Led by the arms of James Pinelli, Paul Dreizler and Peter Morgiewicz and the hitting of James Pinelli, Peter Morgiewicz, Ryan Mitchell, Greg Sirico, EJ Warren and the rest of the team’s potent line-up, the A’s went 18–3 for the season.

In the championship series, they faced the formidable NL winning Cardinals in two great games on Saturday, June 15. The A’s won them both - 7–6 in the first game, then 8-4 in the second.

Paul Dreizler pitched an effective first game and got the win with Peter Morgiewicz throwing two solid innings for the save

In game two, James Pinelli got the win, throwing five strong innings while Tommy Hoffman picked up the save.

Ryan Mitchell lead the way at the plate with four hits, three RBI’s and the game-winning hit in game two with a bases-loaded single in the top of the sixth. He also caught a solid eight innings on the day.

EJ Warren, Greg Sirico, Tommy Hoffman, Ryan Korson and Stephen Kunzweiler also hit the ball very well and were big contributors all year long.
