Swimmer Christopher Sommer chosen Warwick Valley High School Student-Athlete of the Week

WARWICK — Warwick Valley High School is proud to select Senior Swim Captain Christopher Sommer as the Bill Garcia Allstate Student–Athlete of the Week.
Chris is one of Warwick’s top swimmers, recently qualifying for the Section 9 Swim Championships in four Sprint Events (100 Free, 50 Free, and both free relays).
Chris is a four-year varsity swimmer and competed in the NYSPHSAA State Championships last winter. He and the Wildcats swam their final swim meet of the regular season on Jan. 29 at Middletown. They now await the beginning of the championship events.
Chris has an academic average of 93.1 and has been recognized as a NYSPHSAA Scholar–Athlete.
Chris plans to study environmental engineering at Niagara University as an ROTC candidate. He also has applied as a candidate for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Chris is the son of Cathy and Ron Sommer of Greenwood Lake. His sister Stefanie is an eighth grader at Greenwood Lake Middle School.
