Stony Ford Capozzoli Golf Classic
Montgomery County Executive Edward A. Diana announces the Stony Ford Capozzoli Golf Classic will be held at Stony Ford Golf Course, with qualifying play through Saturday, Sept. 30 and the final round on Sunday, Oct. 1. The annual event is dedicated to the memory of Lou Capozzoli, Sr., a beloved member of the Stony Ford family, who passed away in 2001. Tournament sponsor Johnstons Toyota and owner, John Jardine, will provide special hole-in-one prizes on all par-threes, including a 2006 Toyota on the 173-yard, 17th hole. The tournament format will consist of two divisions, Championship and Callaway, for the scratch golfer and competitive recreational player, respectively. Handicap is not required for the Callaway division and qualifying round score will determine flight. The $75 entry fee includes two rounds of golf, a golf cart, continental breakfast and buffet luncheon on Oct. 1, and prizes to the top finishers.
