Soccer captain Tara Heatley is ‘Student-Athlete of the Week’

— Tara Heatley has been selected as this week’s Warwick Valley High School “Student–Athlete of the Week” under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

The senior girls soccer captain is a four-year varsity player and a significant contributor to the Wildcats’ 4–1 start.

Tara plays center midfield for the Lady Wildcats, who have defeated Newburgh, Valley Central, Middletown and Burke Catholic to stat the 2013 campaign.

Tara is a very good student with an unweighted Grade Point Average of 86. She is currently enrolled in Advanced Placement Psychology for College Credit.

She has been recognized as a scholar–athlete by the NYSPHSAA for three consecutive years as a member of the Lady Wildcat soccer team.

She has competed for Quick Strike FC in the offseason and plans to continue playing soccer in college. Tara is interested in continuing her education in the field of forensic psychology and is researching schools in the Northeast 10 Conference.

Tara is the daughter of Pam and Don Heatley of Warwick. Her brother Isaac is a freshman at Warwick Valley High School and her sister Ava is a freshman at SUNY Purchase College.
