Soccer captain Christina Ginley selected as WVHS's 'Student-Athlete of the Week'

— Christina Ginley, the captain of the girls' varsity soccer team, has been chosen as Warwick Valley High School's "Student Athlete of the Week"throught he program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

The Senior midfielder has been a top contributor for the varsity team since her freshman year. She is one of the top goal scorers (8) and leads the team with 13 assists.

Christina is also active in many local charitable causes. She recently collected over 50 pairs of glasses for the Lions Club, volunteers with NY Blood Drive, actively works with Meals on Wheels and is currently running a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Christina is an excellent student and member of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society with an overall average of 94.97. She is a four year NYSPHSAA Scholar–Athlete for Varsity Soccer and plays for Quick Strike F.C. outside of the scholastic season. She is currently enrolled in the Orange Community College calculus course and has taken 4 additional advanced placement courses for college credit. Many universities have expressed interest in Christina as a student–athlete including Marist College and NYU, where she plans to continue her education in the medical field.

Christina Ginley is the daughter of Joseph and Barbara Ginley of Warwick. Christina has 2 brothers—Joseph (11th grade), a Section 9 champion wrestler and Paul (9th grade), an exceptional student – athlete and wrestler for the Wildcats.
