Ski team captain Matt Hansen named Warwick Valley High School's Allstate Student-Athlete of the Week

WARWICK — Warwick Valley High School is proud to recognize junior Matt Hansen as this week's Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency Student-Athlete of the Week.
The three-sport standout is the two-time Section 9 Division II Alpine Ski champion and team captain. He competed in his second NYSPHSAA State Ski Championship this winter at Bristol Mountain in upstate Canandaigua.
Matt is a key contributor to the Division Champion football team as a linebacker and is the varsity lacrosse team's face-off specialist (all as a member of the junior class).
Matt is one of Warwick’s top student–athletes with a weighted average of more than 104 and is currently ranked in the top 3 present of his class of 335.
He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, Chamber Orchestra and candidate for the Warwick National Honor Society.
He is enrolled in AP Chemistry, OCCC Algebra/Trigonometry, AP U.S. History and AP Language and Composition (all for college credit).
Matt is a three-year scholar–athlete recognized by the NYSPHSAA for an average of 90 or better in all three seasons.
He plans to major in engineering two years from now.
He is the son of Scott and Hillary Hansen of Warwick. His brother Christopher is a freshman in the high school and his sister Hallie attends the Warwick Valley Middle School.
