Six students from M-W Track Club advance to Junior Olympic Regionals

Central Valley On the weekend of June 10 and 11, members of the Monroe-Woodbury Track & Field Club competed in the USATF State Association Junior Olympics Championship in Camden, N.J. Competition at this level is considered very tough. The following students advanced to the next level of competition, to be held at Erie Community College in Buffalo, from Tuesday, July 6, to Friday, 9. Ryan Parino Ramcharan advanced by winning three medals in turbo javelin, shot put and discus. Sydnie Charleston won the silver medal in the 1500 meter run. Jared Charleston won the silver in the hurdles. Travis Fountain won the gold in turbo javelin, Sean Halligan for javelin, and Danny Parino Ramcharan for shot put. “We are very proud of these kids. They have worked very hard to get to this level of competition, and we wish them all the best of luck at the regional championship in Buffalo” said the coach, Frank Collins.
