Siblings share their love for golf

GOSHEN For the first time ever at Goshen High School, three groups of brothers and sisters are all participating members of the varsity girls and boys golf teams. The siblings include sophomore Arielle Goyzueta and senior Andrew Goyzueta, junior Kaitlin Sabbagh and freshman Brendan Sabbagh, and freshmen Samantha and Tyler Swingle. “This is the first time anyone at Goshen High School can remember three sets of siblings participating in the same level of any sport,” said Coach Jim Polanis. Kaitlin and Brendan Sabbagh have both been playing golf for approximately 10 years, along with their two older brothers. “My brothers got me into the game, and now I love it,” said Kaitlin. She competed at the State Competition for the third year in a row. Arielle and Andrew Goyzuetas picked up golf about seven years ago with their father. The two play together for fun and both attended the State Competitions. Andrew will continue playing golf when he attends Davidson College in North Carolina in the fall. Tyler Swingle began playing golf at age seven, four years before his sister, Samantha, picked up a club. Now 15, they both claim to enjoy golf, although not to have much else in common. “We’re pretty different,” said Samantha. “We just both love golf.”
