Shortstop Joseph Ghiloni named Warwick Student-Athlete of the week

WARWICK Joseph Ghiloni has been chosen this weeks Warwick Valley High School Student-Athlete under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
The senior, who is a standout in football as well as baseball, has started the baseball season batting .312 with 14 RBIs and six stolen bases. The Wildcats have won five consecutive games (three games with Washingtonville, plus victories over Port Jervis and Monroe-Woodbury).
Joe was 4 for 4 from the plate against Port Jervis in his most recent game and is the leader of the infield at shortstop and a team captain.
Joe has a 90 grade point average in season and has recently been accepted to the University of New Hampshire where he is a recruited walk-on for the varsity football team.
Joe competed for the Wildcats as a wide receiver, running back, defensive back, punter and kicker and was also the recipient of the 44 jersey for the 2011 season.
Joes busy schedule includes a challenging academic load, including a three-credit European history college course.
Joe is the son of David and Gigi (Iannillo) Ghiloni. His mother is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School (Class of 1982) as well as a former cheerleader for the Wildcats.
Joe has two brothers who are following in his footsteps as student–athletes in Wildcat Country: Nick Ghiloni, a freshman, and David Ghiloni, a seventh grader.
