Senior Softball Leagues ends 2006 season with awards

Monroe - Members of the Monroe Senior Softball League brought the 2006 season to a close at their annual year-end banquet at J.B. McMinnions by giving out the following awards: • 2006 Wall of Fame Inductees: Bruce Fisher - FGFP Jim Barnes - Daddy Mac’s/Tommy D’s Dan Martin - League official, player and manager • Playoff Champions: The Afterdeck - A Division Loyal Tire - B Division Brazen Head Pub - C Division • Regular Season Champs: Budweiser - A Division Loyal Tire - B Division Pro Motion - C Division Individual Awards • A Division: Scott Goldstein, Afterdeck - MVP Bruce Weyant, Afterdeck - Defensive player Dave Degrote, Budweiser - Pitcher Anthony Rizzi, Afterdeck - Manager • B Division: Jimmy Scully, Loyal Tire - MVP Mike Gregory, Loyal Tire - Defensive player Neil Hoyt, Loyal Tire - Pitcher Marty Diamond, Loyal Tire - Manager • C Division: Jesse Blattstein, Brazen Head - MVP Brian Williams, Nebrasky Plumbing - Defensive player Mike Wolfe, Nebrasky Plumbing - Pitcher Paul Nebrasky, Nebrasky Plumbing - Manager • 2006 Tommy Dowd Award: Scotty Morrison, Budweiser This is considered the most prestigious award given out at the awards dinner. Past winners include Pete Larkin, John Halayko, Jimmy Barnes, Greg O’Connor, Pete Lunaro and Shannon Gleeson.
