Second round of sports physicals set for Aug. 22

    Second wave of practices also begin this week Central Valley - A second round of Monroe-Woodbury High School fall sports physicals will be conducted in the high school nurse’s office on Tuesday, Aug. 22, between 8 and 11 a.m. Students who had a sports physical examination on or after Aug. 1, 2005, will not need another examination, but are required to have a short sports update in order to begin practice, according information supplied by Athletic Director Ronald Montallto. Sports updates also will be conducted on Aug. 21, 22 and 28 from 7 to 11:30 a.m. at the high school nurses’ office. Monroe-Woodbury Middle School sports physical examinations also will be given at the high school nurse’s office on Tuesday, Aug. 22, between 8 and 11 a.m. Sports updates for those students who had a sport physical examination on or after Sept. 1, 2005, will be conducted at the middle school nurse’s office from 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 30 and 31. High School varsity and junior varsity football and cheerleading practices began on Aug. 14. All other varsity and junior varsity fall sport practices will begin on Monday, Aug. 21. All modified fall sports will begin practice after school on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
