Sculler Niles Arner chosen WVHS’s ‘Student-Athlete of the Week’

— Junior Niles Arner is this week’s Warwick Valley High School “Student–Athlete of the Week” under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

The sculler and member of the Warwick Crew Club Team finished first at the U.S. Rowing Fall Invitational and first at the Junior Singles Passaic Regatta this fall.

Niles is training to qualify for the U.S. Junior Rowing National Team which trains out of Seattle. He is in his fourth season with the Warwick Crew Team.

Niles has an 89.4 average and is very early in the college process. He is enrolled in Advance Placement United States History for college credit.

The young scholar-athlete is an avid snowboarder and trains year round for crew.

Niles is the son of Thomas and Christine Arner of Warwick. His sisters Dorothy and Beatrice are both recent Warwick Valley High School graduates.
