Runner Jack Grace named 'Student-Athlete of the Week'

— John (Jack) Grace has been chosen as the Warwick Valley High School's "Student–Athlete of the Week" under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

The senior soccer, indoor and outdoor track star was part of the 1600 meter relay team along with teammates Dan Kelly, Tom Reilly and Casey Burley that broke the school record indoors with a time of 3:23.24.

That time is currently the second fastest in the country and qualifies the relay team for the prestigious Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden.

Jack finished the outdoor track season last year as an All-American in the sprint medley relay which finished second in the country.

Jack is an excellent student and carries a grade point average of 90.5. He has been recognized by the NYSPHSAA as a Scholar Athlete for soccer, indoor and outdoor track.

Jack was a member of the Division Champion Boys Soccer Team where he competed as a center back.

Jack’s course schedule includes three AP classes this year (AP European History, AP Environmental Science and AP Government).

He has been accepted to Monmouth University, Delaware, Tulane and Albany.

Jack is the son of Bettyann and Sean Grace of Chester. He has two sisters (Mariah and Nora) and two brothers (Brendan and Michael), all graduates of Warwick.
