Runner Alec Warnock named Warwick Valley High School Student-Athlete of the Week

WARWICK — Warwick Valley High School is proud to select senior Alec Warnock as this week's ’Bill Garcia Allstate Student–Athlete of the Week.
Alec and the 4X800m Relay Team of Jeremy Platt–Strack, Behailu Bekele-Arcuri and Tom Gardiner qualified for both the NYSPHSAA Championships and Nationals by winning the Prestigious Fast Times Relay in late May.
Alec’s also competes in the 400 meters where he has run a 49.39 on a relay leg.
The Wildcats finished seventh at the NYSPHSAA State Championships this past weekend in upstate Cicero in the Boys 4X800m with a time of 7:58.37.
Alec is an outstanding student with a grade point average of 92.54 while enrolled in such challenging courses as AP Government and Politics and AP Environmental Science.
He is a three-season track athlete who competes in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and he is focused primarily on middle distance.
He has run a blazing 1:58 in the 800 meters.
Alec will be attending Fordham University in the Fall and plans to major in computer science.
Alec is the son of Wendy and Gordon Warnock of Warwick. He has two older brothers Max and Taylor.
