Ride with the Camels!

WARWICK — Dromedary and Bactrian fans take note: Your bike tour is here.
The Orange County Bicycle Club’s annual Country Roads Bike Tour take place Sunday, Sept. 17, beginning and ending at Warwick Town Park.
The charity bike tour, which raised more than $20,000, is commonly known as the “Ride with the Camels,” and will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan and The Sanctuary for Animals, home to the tour’s camel friends.
Four routesThe Country Roads tour offers participants four cycling routes – approximately 10, 25, 45, or 65 miles each. Riders have the option of riding individually at their own pace following marked and signed roads with accompanying cue sheets or riding in a group led by an experienced Orange County Bicycle Club member.
“Come enjoy a fantastic country ride, while supporting these great organizations that do such important work in our Orange County community,” said Bill Stelz of Monroe, OCBC president.
Additionally, Stelz said, registered riders will enjoy well-marked routes and SAG support will be available to assist riders as needed.
Rest stops placed at reasonable intervals along each of the routes will include snacks, beverages, and bathroom facilities. Lunch and live music will be provided at Warwick Town Park following the ride.
Essential information • Tour day registration and check-in will open at 7:30 a.m. Recommended departure times are 8 a.m. for the 65 mile route, 8:30 a.m. for the 45 mile route, 10 a.m. for the 25 mile route and 10:30 a.m. for the 10 mile route.
• The cost is $45 per adult rider for pre-registration, which includes a complimentary gift, and $10 for children under age 12.
• “Day of event” registration is $55 per adult and $15 per child under 12 .
