Purple Mighty Mites complete undefeated season

Central Valley - The 2006 Monroe-Woodbury Purple Mighty Mites, a team comprised of players seven to nine years old, completed the 2006 season undefeated at 9-0. The Mighty Mites had a remarkable campaign on both offense and defense. Offensively, the team averaged nearly 20 points per game, scoring 27 touchdowns and compiling 1,710 yards of total offense. Through nine games, they only had to punt six times. The Mighty Mite defense, by comparison, allowed a total of 110 yards in nine games and only a single touchdown. They caused 20 fumbles, recovering nine of them. They also intercepted five passes.
