Primo Sports Center launches travel soccer club

FLORIDA — After five successful years in youth soccer, Primo Sports Center, 1741 Route 17 A in the Village of Florida, has now launched Primo FC (Football Club), a premier developmental travel soccer club.
According to Jim Lagarde, founder of Primo FC and director of coaches (DOC), the travel club is designed to offer soccer players of the Hudson Valley a chance to compete and train year round and play at a higher level right here in Florida, N.Y.
Primo FC will be committed to player development and getting players to the next level.
“We are pleased to offer the Hudson Valley a more competitive option to Travel Soccer,” said Lagarde. “We have been working with all the local community soccer clubs since 2007 and in order to afford a player the chance at the next level and put together a team that can compete at the next level, it is important to look outside the local community for talent to add to the team.
“And,” he added, “it’s the job of the local non-for-profit soccer to develop the town players from that individual town. We understand and support all of those local clubs and will help them whenever they need assistance. We are just looking to organize teams of players from surrounding towns and compete at more of a regional level.”
Primo FC will be comprised of boys and girls teams under age eight to under age 18 (U8-U18) who will be sanctioned through U.S. Club Soccer - New York Club Soccer League (NYCSL.)
For the 2013-2014 season, teams will participate in one of the following leagues: Northern Counties Soccer Association of N.J, New York Club Soccer League Premier League or the Eastern Development Program - National Premier League as well the New York State Cup.
Tryouts are scheduled for this Saturday, May 18.
Primo Sports Center is also accepting registrations for sports specific and multi sports at its popular full day summer camps. For information call 651-0440 or visit www.primosports.net.
