— Pole vaulter Todd Uckermark is this week’s Warwick Valley High School “Student–Athlete of the Week” under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

The junior is the indoor and outdoor track school record holder for the pole vault with jumps of 15’4” indoors and 15’8” outdoors.

Todd is part of the undefeated and Division Champion Boys Track Team that has not lost a dual meet in nearly 25 years. He was recently selected as Hispanic Games Athlete of the Meet at the Armory in New York City.

Todd is an excellent student whose 91 grade point average has drawn interest from many colleges as a student and pole vault prospect. He competes as a cross country, indoor and outdoor track athlete who has narrowed his focus and efforts into the pole vault.

Todd’s course load includes AP United States History for College Credit. The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has recognized Todd as a scholar–athlete for all three seasons his junior year.

Todd is the son of Herbie and Vickie Uckermark of Warwick. His older brother Chad (WVHS Class of 2011) just completed his sophomore year at Rochester Institute of Technology majoring in mechanical engineering.
