GREENWOOD LAKE — Members of the Greenwood Lake Little League and Girls Softball League paraded down Windermere Avenue Saturday, April 21, escorted by police and the fire department en route to Lions Field where opening day ceremonies were held.
League President Chris Casse thanked everyone for their support. Casse gave flowers to Anne Caric, thanked league Vice President Matt Buckley for getting the fields ready and Sharess Ramirez for fund raising, plus village and town officials who were in attendance
Greenwood Lake Mayor Jesse Dwyer also thanked coaches, kid, and parents, wishing them a safe, fun and enjoyable season.
Then Kathleen Holder led everyone in the Player's Pledge:
I trust in God.
I love my country
And will respect its laws.
I will play fair
And strive to win.
But win or lose
I will always
Do my best.
