Pitcher Ryan Pendergast chosen as WVHS’s ‘Student-Athlete of the Week’

WARWICK — Ryan Pendergast has been selected as this week’s Warwick Valley High School “Student–Athlete of the Week” under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

The senior baseball standout pitched the Wildcats to an important divisional victory over Washingtonville last week (a complete seven-inning game and helped the team to a 3–0 start in divisional play.

Ryan is the veteran pitcher on staff, coming off a junior year record of 7–1 as a starter.

The young athlete also is a standout swimmer (six years on the varsity) where he was recently named the team’s most outstanding swimmer.

Ryan is an excellent student, carrying a 91.1 average and a class schedule that includes the New Visions program in engineering. He has already earned college credits in AP Biology.

He has been accepted to Philadelphia University where he will study landscape architecture and play baseball.

He is the son of Maureen and Bill Pendergast of Chester.
