Physical Education Students of the Month named for May and June

    GOSHEN — The Physical Education Department at Goshen Central High School has named its Physical Education Students of the Month for May and June. The students were nominated by their physical education teachers to receive this honor. Each student received a T-shirt. “Physical education is holistic, in hopes of educating the whole person, body and mind,” said physical education teacher Mike Turi. “Great physical education programs influence growth patterns in children and contribute to the physiological health of adults.” The Physical Education Students of the Month for May are: Erin Anderson, nominated by Mike Turi for participation in power walking; Ryan Celella, nominated by Bob McIntee for participation in lacrosse; Lea Holenstein, nominated by Kathryn Magid for participation in lacrosse; Tyler Knoll, nominated by Gus Lawson for participation in lacrosse; and Matt Koennecke, nominated by Joanne Reiser for participation in tennis. The Physical Education Students of the Month for June are: Evan Bogris, nominated by Kathryn Magid for participation in softball; Todd Danko, nominated by Mike Turi for participation in cricket; Robert Dolney, nominated by Bob McIntee for participation in cricket; Peter Ferraro, nominated by Joanne Reiser for participation in softball; and Carly Jung, nominated by Gus Lawson for participation in ultimate Frisbee.
