Parrelli selected ‘Student-Athlete of the Week’

— Grant Parrelli, the captain of the Varsity Cross Country team, has been chosen as Warwick Valley High School’s “Student-Athlete of the Week” through the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.

Grant, a senior, and his teammates continue to set the standard this fall ,winning the Division II Title.

Grant may graduate as one of Warwick’s most accomplished runners. His accomplishments include an indoor state championship in the 4 by 800M; two-time All–American and current leader for Section 9 and Orange County (Cross Country).

Most recently Grant finished fifth individually at the Manhattan College Invitational and the team finished first of 37 teams overall in the race.

Grant is an excellent student and member of the National Honor Society, recognized by the NYSPHSAA as a Scholar Athlete for Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track for four consecutive years (90 or better during the season).

His current average is 102.3 and his course schedule includes five AP classes this year.

He has applied for early action to Princeton University and is considering Boston College, Boston University and Columbia among others.

Grant is the son of Debra and Chuck Parrelli of Warwick. His siblings include Reagan, a former WVHS volleyball star who is a sophomore at MCLA; Madison is in eighth grade and competes for the undefeated middle school volleyball team; his brother Harrison is a standout seventh-grader in football and baseball; and Hayes, a fifth-grader, is an up and coming soccer player for the Wildcats.
