Orange County Soccer League for Women's Recreational Soccer Results - Week 2

    Washingtonville — Game Date: Sunday, Sept. 17 GARY GOLDBERG FINANCIAL SERVICES (SUFFERN) 6, ON CLOUD 9 MASSAGE THERAPY (NEW WINDSOR) 5 Even though the day was cool, it was hot on the field as Gary Goldberg Financial Services (GGFS) met On Cloud 9 Massage Therapy. GGFS welcomed back yet another team member, Joelle Walz, from a brief absence. Players from both teams brought their spouses and children to witness this match. On Cloud 9 Massage Therapy started the game off by gaining control of the ball and firing a shot into net to take the lead. GGFS’ Sarah Farina, however, did not let this last too long and retaliated with a goal of her own. From this point on, it was a struggle to maintain a lead. On Cloud 9 Massage Therapy planted another in goal. For GGFS, the next goal scored seemed to be in instant replay as Sarah Farina scored again, firing the ball to the goal from the exact same point on the field and into the same spot as last time. After this display, On Cloud 9 Massage Therapy tried to regain their lead by scoring three more goals. GGFS’ defensive players; Andrea DeCastro, Susan Lindsay, Joelle Walz and Melissa Shaw continuously fed their offense the ball in order to prevent On Cloud 9 Massage Therapy from scoring. GGFS’ offensive players; Annmarie Boffalo, Tricia Kent and Jaime Pitingaro continued to weave the ball around On Cloud 9 Massage Therapy’s defense. GGFS’ Laura Farley used everything she could, including her head, to score four goals. Great game played by both teams. SKB GROUP INC.
