Olympic medalist to teach swimming in Monroe

Monroe Three-time Olympic gold medalist Josh Davis will hold an instructional clinic for the Monroe-Woodbury Marlins Swim Club from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Monroe-Woodbury Middle School. The Ultimate Technique Swim Clinic, presented by USASwimmer.com, will feature water-stroke and technique drills, an dryland training, and motivational talks, plus Davis’s Olympic stories. The clinic is limited to the first 100 swimmers. The autograph signing will be on a first-come, first-served basis. “When I was these swimmers’ age, I would have done anything to meet an Olympic champion, hold their medal and listen to their advice,” Davis said of his clinics for young people. “I have been blessed and I want to share my experiences with as many young swimmers as possible. I’ll even let them put the gold medal around their neck. For more information or to register, call Denise Byrne at 674-1589. For more information on Davis, visit joshdavis.com or usaswimmer.com.
