Olympic gymnast coming to Sports, Fitness and Fun for open gym event

FLORIDA Sports, Fitness and Fun is hosting an open gym from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, with Shannon Miller Olympic gold medalist, health and fitness advocate, and wife and mother.
Miller is best known for her role at the 1996 Olympic Games, when she led the Magnificent Seven to the U.S. Womens first-ever Team Gold. She captured gold on the balance beam, the first time for any American gymnast.
She is the most decorated gymnast in U.S. history, earning 59 international and 49 national competition medals, and is the only female athlete to be inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame twice.
The open gym is an opportunity for kids to get active alongside an Olympic champion. Youth ages 6 to 12 will have opportunity to tumble, swing on the bars, balance on the beam, jump on the trampolines, hang on the trapeze, flip into the foam pit, and more.
Miller will be on hand to play games with the kids and offer instruction on the apparatus. There will be opportunity for photos and autographs for registered participating children at the end of the event.
