Warwick — NY Clash, a traveling softball club for girls, works out of Warwick, but incorporates girls from Vernon, N.J., and surrounding towns. The 2005 season saw all three of its teams - 14U, 16U, and 18U - travel to the National Championships in Ohio and Florida. Many sponsors made it possible for the girls to fulfill their softball dreams last year. Elite sponsors included Morse Fluid Technologies, Esben Shade Farms, Endico Potatoes, and Finns Mobile Home Park. Gold sponsors included Leo Kaytes Ford, Jados Farms, Hutchinson Family, Regal Homes & Properties, Vitec Service, Michael Corkum, Carpenter, R. F. Reveley Construction, and Star Collision Center. Silver sponsors included Mason Builders of Orange County, Kathleen Kelly, High Point Auto Insurance, Brian and Dorothy Slattery, Benjamin Ostrer & Associates, and Weichert Realtors. Bronze sponsors included Dr. Edward Fisher, D & D Sports & Marine, KA-CI Stables, John and Meg McDonugh, Iron Forge Inn, MC Painting, Robert and Christal Taylor, Dream Computers, and for Ryan, Aunt Maureen. The non-profit organization offers girls the ability to compete against other teams in the area, and to play softball with the best. Under the guidance of Tom Ballard and John Rickey, the club will be adding a new level of 12U. If any one is interested in joining, or sponsoring the team, call 987-1347.
